Oscar hopeful Belfast releases its trailer with a strong Irish cast

With the summer blockbuster technically over - despite the fact there are still some massive films like No Time To Die, Dune, The Matrix 4 and Spider-Man: No Way Home still be to released this year - the darker and colder nights usually mean one thing for film fans, the release of title in contention for awards.

In terms of Irish representation, Kenneth Branagh's autobiographical tale of his own life growing up in Belfast has serious credentials behind it.

As per the synopsis: "Belfast is a personal and joyful story about the power of memory, set in late 1960s Northern Ireland.

"At the center of the film is Buddy, a young boy on the cusp of adolescence, whose life is filled with familial love, childhood hijinks, and a blossoming romance. Yet, with his beloved hometown caught up in increasing turmoil, his family faces a momentous choice: hope the conflict will pass or leave everything they know behind for a new life."

The cast in this is very impressive with Jamie Dornan, Caitriona Balfe, Judi Dench, Jude Hill, Lara McDonnell and Ciaran Hinds all starring.

Belfast is released in Irish cinemas on November 12.
