Oscar Fernandes continues to be critical though stable: Hospital

MANGALURU: Health condition of former Union minister and Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes continues to be critical, though stable, according to a press release issued by Yenepoya Speciality Hospital.

Medical director Dr Muhammed Thahir said that Oscar Fernandes is presently being treated in the ICU.

“He incurred intracranial bleeding following a head injury. His condition is complicated due to cardiac and kidney issues for which he had been on treatment for some time in our hospital,” Dr Thahir said.

Oscar Fernandes was critically injured after an accidental fall at his apartment at Padavinangady, while doing his regular exercises on Monday.

Many Congress leaders including former KPCC president Allam Veerabhadrappa, MLC BK Hariprasad and And Bhai Jagtap, president of the Mumbai unit of Congress, visited the veteran Congress leader in the hospital.
