Osaze Urhoghide mulls Celtic exit with Dundee option on the table as clubs thrash out Leigh Griffiths future

James McPake snapped up Jay Chapman and is hoping he has persuaded Osaze Urhoghide to join him at Dundee.

Canadian international midfielder Chapman has agreed terms and comes in on a free transfer from Inter Miami, having been freed at the end of the Major League Soccer season.

The 28-year-old midfielder is now waiting for a work permit so he can start training with his new Dens Park team mates.

Chapman, who has also turned out for Toronto FC, becomes Dundee 's first signing of this window.

Their business is not done there though, and McPake is now looking to seal a deal for Celtic defender Urhoghide.

He has held talks with the Dutchman and is now waiting to see if he will agree to a move north.

The 21-year-old only moved to Celtic from Sheffield Wednesday in the summer but Ange Postecoglou wants him to go out and get regular first-team football.

The two clubs are also still in talks over Leigh Griffiths’ future.

Dundee have him on-loan for the season although there is a break clause in the deal, which could be activated this month after an uninspiring first half of the season.

McPake also has experienced defender Paul Watson in on trial.
