Osaze Urhoghide is nearing a move to Celtic as they raid Sheffield Wednesday once again.
Talks have taken place with the Dutch-born defender who could become Ange Postecoglou ’s first signing.
The 20-year-old is out of contract at Hillsborough with the likes of Leeds United, Benfica, Sporting and Club Brugge all credited with an interest.
But he looks to be heading to the Scottish Premiership with the Hoops at the head of the queue for his signature according to the Daily Record.
Urhoghide would set Celtic back around £200,000 in training compensation and can operate at centre back and right back.
However, that is still to their advantage as he would be significantly more expensive if he opted to continue his career in England.
And he could be set for a reunion with former Owls teammate Liam Shaw at Celtic Park.
The midfielder's switch from South Yorkshire was confirmed towards the end of last season and he trained with his new teammates this week.
Urhoghide could be joining him shortly, although Wednesday are still holding out hope of persuading him to stay.
Boss Darren Moore has offered him a bumper new contract and has promised the player regular football in League One following their relegation from the Championship
