Osaka marks new record high of 149 coronavirus cases

A record 149 people were newly confirmed as being infected with the novel coronavirus in Osaka Prefecture on Friday, exceeding Wednesday's high of 121, according to the prefectural government.

It was the third day in a row that the prefecture's daily figure exceeded 100.
