Osaka confirms 86 new cases of coronavirus

The Osaka prefectural government announced Saturday that an additional 86 people have been confirmed to be infected with the novel coronavirus.

This marks the first time since April 20 that the number of those infected exceeded 80, the highest number since the lifting of the state of emergency.

Osaka's highest daily total is 92 recorded on April 9.
