Leeds United made it clear they were not coming to the Premier League as mere tourists enjoying the ride on Saturday night.
Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites bloodied the nose of a side which ran away with the top flight last term and a side which has not lost in the league at home since April 2017.
Goals from Jack Harrison, Patrick Bamford and Mateusz Klich saw United peg back Jurgen Klopp’s stars three times before ultimately conceding a late winner from the penalty spot.
Here is a round-up of the moments you may have missed from Anfield.

Klopp gets into the Leeds warm-up
While it is not an uncommon sight for those watching Liverpool’s pre-match routines, it may have been something you missed from Saturday’s broadcast.
Klopp was stood near the halfway line and just stared at the Whites warm-up, pretty much for the duration of it.
Whether it’s an intimidation tactic or just an attempt to learn more about his opponents, we can’t be sure, but either way, it’s out of the ordinary from the opposition bosses we are used to.
Liam Cooper travelled
The rumours began to surface on Friday of the captain missing out at Anfield with an injury, but there was no substance to them until the teamsheets dropped.
United and the skipper kept us guessing until the last minute with his presence at Anfield confirmed as he got off the team bus pre-match.
The Scotland international picked up a knock to his calf while away with his country this week, but came to Anfield with the hope of passing a late fitness test and playing.
However, he failed it and was forced to watch the game from the stands.
Victor Orta picks up where he left off
One of the main themes of last season’s fan-less climax was the audible support of director of football Victor Orta.
From the binoculars at Pride Park to the flattening of colleagues at Liberty Stadium, Orta has been channelling the way United supporters feel at the games they can’t attend.
The last thing we heard inside Anfield before the referee’s whistle for kick-off was “Vamos Leeds Carajo!”
Orta, out of our vision from the press box, was again the loudest man inside a football stadium.
There were regular calls of “Come on, Leeds!” from the directors’ box too, especially when they went behind in the game.
Bielsa misses pre-match meeting
One of the pre-match events we did not see much of in the Championship, publicly at least, was the referee’s meeting with the captains and managers.

It took place on the pitch at Anfield with Luke Ayling, Jordan Henderson and Klopp meeting with Michael Oliver and his three officials on the touchline.
The man conspicuous by his absence was Bielsa, whose place was taken by team manager Matt Grice.
Whatever the reason was for Bielsa’s absence, whether it be the language barrier or a better use of his time elsewhere, it was another matchday nugget we picked up away from the cameras.
