A second person has died following a horrific house fire which killed a 45-year-old woman in south east London.

The latest victim, a man also aged 45, died on Saturday after being rushed to hospital following the blaze last week.

His exact cause of death has not been determined, with a post-mortem examination to be carried out on Thursday.

Police were called to an address in Cray Avenue, Orpington, at 11.14pm on Monday, May 28.

London Fire Brigade, who were dealing with the fire, called the Met Police. The woman who passed away was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem determined the woman died as a result of burns and inhalation of fire fumes.

An 11-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy were taken to hospital following the fire and have since been discharged, with their injuries deemed not life threatening.

All those in the house are believed to have been related.

Scotland Yard said an investigation into the blaze is being carried out and no arrests have been made in connection to the incident.
