Nine people managed to escape as a huge fire broke out in a pub in in Orpington, south London, this morning.
Around 70 firefighters are tackling the blaze after emergency services were called to the White Hart pub on the High Street since 7.30am today.
Video footage from the scene shows a firefighter on an aerial ladder platform shooting litres of water at the fire from above, while others get breathing apparatus prepared to go inside the building.
In a post on Twitter London Fire Brigade wrote: "10 fire engines and around 70 firefighters have been called to a fire on #Orpington High Street."
Officers have confirmed the fire is centred around the three-storey pub's loft space.
Station Commander Chris Brown, who is at the scene, told My London: "Firefighters are tackling the fire internally and are being assisted by an aerial appliance.
"Nine people left the building before the brigade arrived and are thankfully, all uninjured.
"Crews are continuing to work to bring the fire under control and are carrying out salvage operations.
"Orpington High Street is closed whilst crews work to make the scene safe and we urge people to avoid the area."
