Ornaments worth Rs 2.5 lakh stolen in bus

PUNE: The Pimpri police are investigating a 28-year-old woman’s complaint stating that her gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 2.5 lakh were stolen from her bag while she was travelling from Shrirampur in Ahmednagar district to Pimpri in a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus.

An officer from the Pimpri police told TOI that the woman returned home from Shrirampur on Wednesday.

“On Thursday, she found that her gold and silver ornaments were not in the bag. She filed a complaint later at night,” the officer said.

The officer said the woman had gone to Shrirampur for a family function and carried the ornaments with her.

“The woman said in her complaint that the ornaments were stolen while she was travelling in the bus,” the officer said.
