Orlando man killed in accident after fleeing earlier hit-and-run crash

ORLANDO, Fla. _ A 21-year-old Orlando man was killed Tuesday morning after rear-ending a FedEx semi truck in Orlando; before the accident, the driver was fleeing a previous hit-and-run, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Dimitri Dede, 21, was driving his 2017 Toyota Corolla when he was involved in hit-and-run traffic accident at John Young Parkway and South Park Circle, said FHP's Lt. Kim Montes.

No injuries were reported, but Dede fled the scene and traveled north at about 2:20 a.m. on John Young Parkway, approaching a red light at Sand Lake Road, Montes said.

A FedEx semi truck, driven by 23-year-old Ronald Oliva of Tampa, was stopped at the light.

Dede failed to stop as he approached the truck and hit the rear of the semi, Montes said.

Dede was taken to the Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

FHP is still investigating to see if alcohol played a role in the incident.

Oliva was not injured.
