Orlando Bubble: Former Warrior Alec Burks helps Sixers off the bench in win vs. Rockets

With the 2020 edition of the NBA postseason looming in the Orlando Bubble, the Golden State Warriors are busy with their offseason plans. With the league’s worst record, the Warriors were one of eight teams not to get the invite to Disney World.

With no hoops on the Bay Area calendar, Warriors Wire is checking in on former members of the Golden State Warriors inside the Orlando Bubble. On Friday, former Golden State swingman Alec Burks laced up for the Philadelphia 76ers against the Houston Rockets.

In the Sixers’ final game in the seeding round of the bubble, Burks filled the box score against James Harden’s Rockets. The Colorado product tallied 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field with five rebounds, five assists and two steals in 22 minutes off the bench for Brett Brown. Burks continued his steady long-distance shooting, knocking down 4-of-6 shots from beyond the arc.

Burks was one of eight members of the Sixers to score in double figures in the team’s 134-96 victory against the playoff-bound Rockets.

With Philadelphia dealing with a bevy of injuries up and down the roster, Brown will need to count on Burks as the 76ers enter the postseason.

In seven games during the seeding round, Burks averaged 14.6 points on 56.7% shooting from the field, with 2.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. Burks kept up his hot hand from deep, shooting 57.1% from 3-point land.

Burks and the Sixers will kick off their postseason campaign on Monday against the Boston Celtics.
