Orlando Bloom thinks Katy Perry romance 'will be forever' - all thanks to his ex

Orlando Bloom believes his relationship with Katy Perry will be forever - thanks to the actions of his ex.

The 42-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star has said that his romance with singer Perry 'won't end in divorce' as he's been there, done that and not looking for a repeat performance.

Speaking to Willie Geist on NBC's Sunday Today this weekend, Orlando will open up about his feelings for Katy and why their engagement is only heading to a 'happy ever after'.

Orlando says: "It's important to me that we are aligned. I've been married and divorced and I don't want do it again... and we're both fully aware of that.

"She's remarkable and so I'm always so impressed with that and I'm encouraged."

Orlando, who is currently starring in Carnival Row, was previously married to model Miranda Kerr.

The pair split in 2013 after three years of marriage but have managed to stay reasonably amicable as they raise their eight-year-old son, Flynn.

Despite this, Orlando knows that he doesn't want to go down the divorce road again and he plans to make sure Katy is the one and only, starting with his statement engagement proposal.

Speaking about his Valentine's Day request, while on an intimate helicopter ride with Katy, Orlando said: "To be honest, she loves a theme as you can see in everything she does. She loves a big moment."

Despite this, Orlando is hoping to encourage Katy to embrace the "small moments" as well.

He continued: "I'm still trying to get her to wrestle into the small moments. The cool thing about what we're doing, we're learning to do the small together.

"I think we're both fully aware that it's a mountain to climb and that that mountain won't stop, in terms of a relationship because I think that's what it is and I love to evolve and fortunately, she does too."

It seems that Katy is on the same page with Orlando and has explained that they are trying to build their relationship the right way.

Speaking on KISS Breakfast With Tom & Daisy, Katy said: "[We're] definitely trying to, like, lay the good emotional foundation for the lifetime of commitment, which is, like, a big deal, you know?"

The full interview with Orlando will air on on Sunday, August 25 on Sunday Today.
