Orlando Bloom shuts down rumours he and Katy Perry have split with sweet video

Orlando Bloom has shut down rumours he and fiancée Katy Perry have split with a sweet video.

Reports of a break-up swirled when the Firework hitmaker attended the prestigious Met Gala in New York without her Lord of the Rings beau by her side.

Katy and Orlando, who got engaged in 2019 and welcomed daughter Daisy Dove in August 2020, haven’t posted on social media about each other for a while, prompting fans to worry the couple had split.

However, determined to put the rumours to rest, the British actor, 45, took to Instagram to share a short clip of the singer, which he captioned “magical mamma”.

In the brief video, she can be seen dancing and smiling, while wearing head-to-toe fairy lights and looking adoringly at Orlando.

Katy is swaying to the beat with huge fairy wings adorned with twinkling lights attached to her back, and a matching glowing crown.

“Lol”, she cheekily commented on the clip.

The American Idol judge sparked rumours she and Orlando had parted ways when she appeared on the US talent show without her $5 million engagement ruby and diamond ring.

She also hasn’t worn the sparkler for some of her Las Vegas residency gigs, rocking a bare ring finger in December last year, and in January.

Katy ditched the ring once again when she walked the red carpet at the Met earlier this month, wearing another piece of jewellery instead.

The songstress has previously attended the prestigious fashion bash with her other half, but this year, she opted to go alone, wearing a black and cream Oscar de la Renta dress that featured floral lace detail across the chest, teamed with tulle gloves.

The event marked Katy’s return to the Met, as she last walked the red carpet dressed in a Moschino creation - which transformed her into a lifesize chandelier - back in 2019.

The singer said she wanted to surprise this year with her sophisticated gown, as she was worried it would be “pretty obvious obvious for me to go play the kooky, crazy, wild, big, fun, colourful card”.

“This time, I’m going to play a whole different card,” she told Page Six.
