Actor Orlando Bloom has reflected on a horrifying, life-threatening fall that changed his life 22 years ago.
The Lord of the Rings star, 44, bravely opened up on the accident with his Instagram fans, sharing a snap of his younger self wearing a back brace.
Dad-of-two Orlando explained that he fell from the height of three floors and crushed his spine in the near-fatal accident, which happened in 1998.
Detailing what happened to him during the terrifying fall, he shared: "That's me in my back brace circa 1998 about 3months after I fell 3floors and crushed my spine, narrowly escaping death and paralysis."
He added: "Grateful everyday for my limbs that allow me to push my limits and live life on my edge (safer now)," finishing off the caption with a prayer emoji.

The Hollywood star's fiancee Katy Perry supported her future husband in the comments section of the snap, as she penned: "I love you."
Orlando's ex-wife Miranda Kerr also shared: "So proud of you," adding a love heart at the end.
The horrific accident happened when Orlando was climbing a rooftop terrace with friends and he fell three stories after a drainpipe he scaled collapsed.
Previously speaking about the life-changing moment with GQ, he said: "Until then, I didn't have a healthy appreciation for life and death — that we're not invincible."
Orlando added that he experienced "dark places" after realising he was either going to walk again or not.
He said: "And for four days, I faced the idea of living in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. I went to some dark places in my mind. I realised, I'm either going to walk again or I'm not."

It appears the actor made reference to this in his Instagram caption, as he shared how appreciative he now is of his limbs for allowing him to continue to live his life.
Since the scary accident, Orlando says he is now "chilled" and won't ever consider doing anything that will put him in a near-death situation again.
He added to the publication: "But that accident has informed everything in my life. Until you're close to losing it, you don't realise. I used to ride motorbikes and drive cars like everything was a racetrack; it was ridiculous. It wasn't because I thought it was cool; it was just because I loved living on the edge. But I've chilled."
