Orioles end seven-game losing streak, beat Yankees, 3-2, behind Bundy

Orioles starter Dylan Bundy certainly didn't look like a guy who was carrying the weight of the Orioles lengthy slump on his shoulders.

The young right-hander took the mound on Memorial Day against the first-place New York Yankees and did what he's been doing all season. He delivered another quality start and the Orioles ended their seven-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory before an announced 40,242 at Camden Yards.

Bundy pitched seven innings and allowed two runs on seven hits to improve his record to 5-3. He threw 95 pitches and allowed just a run on a sacrifice fly in the second inning and a solo home run by Aaron Judge in the seventh.

The Orioles jumped out to a 3-1 lead on Jonathan Schoop's two-run double in the third, but continue to search for offensive continuity. They would not score again and would allow the suspense to build when the bullpen took over in the eighth.

Setup man Darren O'Day pitched scoreless inning against the top of the Yankees order to bring Brad Brach into the Orioles' first save situation since May 20.

Brach was well-rested and it showed. He retired Starling Castro on a grounder to short, struck out Judge swinging and struck out Didi Gregorius to bring an end to the suffering and boost the Orioles back up to 3 { games off the pace in the American League East.

The Orioles might have looked horrible against the top teams in each of the other divisions last week, but they improved to 18-10 against the American League East.

Mired in their worst losing streak since 2011, the Orioles head home for a key nine-game series

The Aaron Judge traveling salvation show is passing through Baltimore, and he showed for the 17th time why he's the biggest, baddest hitter in the game right now.

He hit a line drive into the center-field bleachers in the seventh inning and didn't even look like he was swinging hard.

Judge took over sole possession of the major league home run lead after entering the day tied with Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout.

Jonathan Schoop carried the Orioles offense in Sunday's loss to the Houston Astros, with a two-run home run in the first inning and an RBI single.

He also delivered the big blow when the Orioles retook the lead on Monday. He lined a two-out double into the right-field corner to score Mark Trumbo and Trey Mancini.

Trumbo drove in the first run of the game with a two-out single in the first inning and scored the O's second run after reaching base on an error in the third.

He also had another hit in the fifth inning and walked in the seventh. Throw in a couple of solid plays in the outfield and he was pretty much in the middle of everything Monday.

First baseman Chris Davis is trying to dig himself out of a frustrating slump, but it didn't happen Monday.

He stayed in some at-bats and seemed intent on breaking the bad habit of watching third strikes, but still went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.

Manny Machado also went hitless in four at-bats and is now batting just .205 over the past month (23-for-112 in 27 games).
