Orinda shooting: Four people killed as gunman opens fire at 'Halloween party' in California

Four people have been killed in California after a gunman reportedly opened fire at a Halloween party attended by college students.

Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office confirmed that four people had died and several more were injured in the attack on Thursday night.

The shooting in the city of Orinda, near San Francisco, is said to have happened during a Halloween party at an Airbnb.

Witnesses told NBC News that college students were present.

Police were first called to the scene at around 11pm on Thursday local time.

Video footage showed multiple patients being loaded into ambulances while others limped away from the scene.

Video also showed police talking to people who appeared injured.

Orinda is located to the east of Berkeley in San Francisco. Some of those attending the party were from Laney College, a community college in Oakland, according to reports.
