An original animatronic head of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is set to go to auction for up to £1 million.

Auction house Julien’s Auctions is collaborating with Turner Classic Movies to bring over 1,000 pop culture artifacts to the ‘Hollywood Legends’ auction.

Spread over four days, the auction will feature props, costumes and memorabilia from some of the most famous franchises of all time.

The centerpiece of the auction is an original animatronic E.T. head.

The head was featured throughout Steven Spielberg’s 1982 classic, including many of the famous bike scenes.

The auction house has previously sold a full-body E.T. model for over $2.5 million, but the estimate for this head stands at a cool $800,000 – $1 million (£638,240 – £797,800).

Also featured in the four-day auction will be robes and glasses worn by Richard Harris in his portrayal of Albus Dumbledore, a shield worn by Chris Evans in ‘Captain America: The First Avenger,’ and Michael Keaton’s full costume from 1992’s ‘Batman Returns.’

Days one and two will feature the themes ‘Robots, Wizards, Heroes & Aliens: Contemporary Hollywood Auction,’ and ‘100 Years of Warner Bros,’ showcasing iconic costumes and props from genre classics.

“We are excited to announce the first two days of our Hollywood Legends auction event curated with our esteemed partner TCM that encompasses an incredible array of marquee items from the worlds of Sci-Fi, Contemporary, Classic, and Blockbuster franchises representing some of the biggest and most popular films and television shows of all time,” said Martin Nolan, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Julien’s Auctions.

“These iconic collectibles associated with pop culture phenomena and phrases from ‘Danger, Will Robinson’ to ‘E.T. phone home’ to ‘Avengers, Assemble!,’ are a once-in-a-lifetime auction opportunity for fans, pop culture enthusiasts and collectors to own a piece of Hollywood history.”

The auction will take place from 14 December to 17 December in Beverly Hills, USA and online and julienslive.com.
