If you remember building your dream home as a teenager and creatively controlling the fate of your Sims, however disturbing it may have been, then this offer is for you.
For a limited time only, EA is offering a free download of the popular virtual world game from Origin.
Available on PC and Mac, the offer closes on Tuesday May 28, so you'd better act fast if you want your bank holiday plans sorted.
The freebie was announced on the official Sims Twitter account with a post asking fans to tag a friend who would get the game, which accumulated 4.1k comments.
Some users complained that it was unfair for those who had already bought the game, in which The Sims responded with:
"If you purchased the game from Origin and meet the eligibility requirements (within 24 hrs if you played it, within 14 days of purchase if not), you can process a refund ."
They reassured others that once purchased during the promotional period, "it'll be yours to keep forever."
How to claim
There are no complicated cheat codes for this free download; you simply head over to the Origin website, and click on the The Sims 4 "Get it Free" button.
You will need to set up an EA Origin account, unless you can remember your password from the early noughties, where you'll then be set up for hours and hours of organised fun.
Released in 2014, The Sims 4 is the latest version of the simulation game which lets you create unique personalities and lives. The download on offer is the standard edition of the game, meaning no extravagant expansion packs.
