A new microbrewery could soon be heading to Leith if plans to convert a former car repair shop on Tower Street are approved.
Finlay Heslop and Vincent Rosario - the founders of Origin Beer Company - have submitted a planning application to Edinburgh city council to turn the disused industrial unit into a craft microbrewery.
The small brewery will brew up 3-4 batches of craft beer a week, and hopes to create eight jobs.
In a supporting statement, Origin Beer Company said:
"Leith has a rich history of brewing and Origin will add to the small but growing community of small craft brewers operating in the area. It is imperative to the business that we are located in the Leith area and units of this nature are getting less and less available.
"Redevelopment and prices per square foot are forcing small businesses out of the area, so we are incredibly excited about 6A Tower Street.
Edinburgh Live have reached out to Finlay and Vincent for comment.
