Organising Live 8 - 'all very frantic'

Jo Phillip is an organiser of the Live 8 concert being held at Murrayfield on July 6. This is her diary.

Everything is going to schedule but I could do with more than 24 hours in the day. It is very frightening when you wake up in the morning and think "Oh shit". There just isn't enough time: you can't put anything off until tomorrow, everything has got to be sorted now. The phones don't stop ringing and the emails don't stop coming – I had 197 yesterday and none of them were spam. We are up to our eyeballs accrediting people for Murrayfield; but there are umpteen requests coming for interviews with Bob Geldof and Midge Ure and it is all very frantic.

Hyde Park is, as far as I can tell, going very well and naturally all eyes are on Live 8 tomorrow. We are keeping our fingers crossed for good weather, but once Hyde Park is done we need to concentrate people's minds and remind them that's not the end, it's just the beginning of the final stage of the long walk to justice that climaxes in Edinburgh on July 6.
