Organisers behind Glasgow's Sound & Vision Drive-In forced to cancel event

The Sound and Vision Drive-in music and cinema event that was set to take place later this month and into August near Glasgow has been cancelled by organisers.

The Glasgow Film Festival and Electric Frog were scheduled to jointly host the event over two weeks from July 30 at Glasgow Airport Direct Parking in Paisley.

But following a change in the regulations affecting drive-in events in Scotland, organisers have made the difficult decision to cancel the event.

A statement released by The Electric Frog on Facebook reads: "Sadly, due to the changed regulations affecting drive-in events in Scotland, we have taken the decision to the cancel our events.

"The updated regulations, which were changed last week, mean it is now not financially viable for us – two small, independent organisations, including a not-for-profit organisation and charity – to put on the events, due to the reduced capacity in the venue this would allow.

"We are sorry to disappoint those who were planning to attend, but we understand the regulations are there to keep everyone safe in a situation which is ever-changing.

"Purchased tickets will be refunded to the card used in the transactions."
