Oregon woman’s DoorDash’s driver handed her something that has everyone begging her to find him

An Oregon woman who placed a routine DoorDash order for banana bread ingredients got a huge surprise when her delivery driver, Ryan, accidentally committed what she called a heroic crime on her behalf. Food delivery apps are meant to be a tiny luxury, making life easier by bringing groceries or dinner right to your door. Interactions are usually pretty normal, but every now and then, a completely routine order turns into a viral internet story.

That’s exactly what happened to TikTok creator Alexis (@alexisdreier04) when she realized she received an unexpected bonus item. Alexis showed off the results of her order, which included a massive bunch of bananas and a single cooking pan. Except it wasn’t a single pan, according to Brobible. She filmed the shocking reveal for her followers, showing that two pans were tightly stuck together, meaning Ryan had only scanned and paid for one of them.

This is a top-tier delivery experience. Who doesn’t love getting free stuff, even if it’s an honest mistake? Alexis was clearly thrilled by the accidental heist. In the viral clip, which has already racked up over 1.4 million views, she gave a huge shout-out to her shopper. “A huge shout out to my DoorDash shopper, Ryan,” she announced. She then cheered the unexpected bonus, declaring, “He stole one for me. H— yeah.”

DoorDash comes to the rescue in this case

While Alexis joked about his criminal intentions, she immediately tried to give Ryan the benefit of the doubt. She wrote in her caption that she didn’t think he intended to lift an extra pan. You know, this is actually a very plausible theory if you’ve ever shopped for cookware. Pans are often stacked so tightly in stores that two pieces look exactly like one item when viewed quickly.

Whether it was a store employee grabbing the stack or Ryan himself, it’s easy for the extra pan to make it from the shelf to the bag without anyone noticing the double item. The checkout process doesn’t help either. If you’re using self-checkout, the system scans the barcode, not the actual weight of the item, like they do with produce. If Ryan placed the whole stack down as one item to be scanned, the register simply wouldn’t catch it.

Regardless of whether it was intentional or accidental, the internet is now completely obsessed with finding this accidental legend. Commenters immediately flooded Alexis’s feed, realizing that Ryan wasn’t interested in a monetary tip, but something much better. One user perfectly summed up the driver’s motivation, writing, “Ryan never wanted a tip. He wanted some banana bread.”

We love heartwarming stories like this that involve DoorDash drivers. They’re better than those that have sad endings.
