The future of a private hospital in the central west of NSW hangs in the balance after it went into voluntary administration.
The Orange Private Hospital, which is advertised as "a boutique short-stay private hospital located in the heart of Orange", employs almost 100 staff including 32 surgeons.
Administrator Ernst and Young issued a statement on Tuesday saying its "primary objective is to secure a longer-term future for the organisation".
"We understand these are uncertain times for employees, doctors and patients of the Orange Private Hospital," administrator David Kennedy said.
A campaign will be undertaken "to achieve a recapitalisation or sale of the hospital".
"Our priorities are the continuation of services at the hospital and to ensure any disruption is minimised," he said.
"We are committed to having regular and clear communication with doctors, employees, patients and the local community."
The hospital is part of the Nexus Hospitals group and opened in July 2021 with seven operating theatres, a day surgery recovery room, 16 private ensuite rooms, a six-bed close observation unit and pediatric ward.
