Orange Lodge release statement after member dies during Glasgow procession

The Orange Lodge have released a statement after one of their members tragically died during a march in Glasgow yesterday morning.

John Graham, secretary of the Port Glasgow District, sadly passed away after taking unwell on Saturday.

Emergency services raced to the scene near Tradeston Street around 10.50am but the 68-year-old could not be saved.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Grand master of the Orange Lodge in Scotland, Jim McHarg, sent his deepest condolences to the family and friends of John.

A statement released on Facebook said: "Jim McHarg Grand Master expresses the condolences of the Grand Orange Lodge of Scotland to the family and friends of Brother John Graham District Secretary Port Glasgow District LOL 19 who sadly passed away yesterday during the Glasgow procession."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11am on Saturday morning, a 68-year-old man became unwell while on Tradeston Street, Glasgow.

"An ambulance attended however sadly the man was pronounced dead a short time later.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the PF."
