Oran Kearney to Coleraine rumours rubbished by St Mirren boss

Oran Kearney has rubbished speculation suggesting he will return to Coleraine this summer.

Kearney left the Bannsiders back in September to take up the hot-seat at Scottish Premiership outfit St Mirren.

His replacement Rodney McAree parted company with Coleraine on Friday night after a disappointing season at the Showgrounds.

McAree's departure has led to increasing speculation that Kearney could be set to return to the North West club.

But Kearney - whose St Mirren side boosted their Scottish Premiership survival hopes with a 2-0 win over Hamilton last night - has dismissed the rumours.

Double joy for Linfield as David Healy and defender Jimmy Callacher are honoured at NI Football Awards

St Mirren now need to better Hamilton's result against St Johnstone to have any chance of avoiding further playoff games against Dundee United or Inverness.

"I think that is the bandit that is social media. My head's been 110 percent on preparing for this game and again it will be exactly the same in preparing for Saturday's game.," Kearney said.

"I'm here, I'm loving it. I'm hearing things, like families this and families that.

"From the word go I have made it known my family are in Northern Ireland and I am here to find a way to work with that. Coleraine is a club very close to my heart, of course, because I wouldn't be sitting here now if it wasn't for Coleraine.

"In the same stretch I am here to do a job and I am very happy and I hope the club are happy with me."
