Oran Kearney is heading back to Coleraine this summer

Oran Kearney is heading back to Coleraine this summer.

It has been announced that Kearney's St Mirren will take on his former club in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, June 29 (2pm).

The Scottish Premiership side will visit the Showgrounds later this month, in what will be familiar territory for the Buddies boss.

St Mirren secured their top flight status last season with a playoff win over Dundee United.

Kearney - who was Coleraine boss from 2011-18 - had been tentatively linked with a shock return to the Showgrounds, with the Bannsiders looking to appoint a new manager .

The former Irish League midfielder remains a fans' favourite at the Showgrounds, having helped the club win the Irish Cup in 2018.

But he recently pledged his future to St Mirren, who will also play South Belfast club Rosario YFC in a friendly on Friday night, June 28.
