Oran Kearney close to St Mirren exit as boss 'told to stay away' from training

Oran Kearney's spell as St Mirren manager looks to be over.

The Northern Irishman and the Paisley outfit are set to part company after a total breakdown in the relationship between Kearney and chairman Gordon Scott.

Saints’ coaching staff will be in charge for the first session of pre-season training today, Record Sport understands, with reports suggesting Kearney has been told to stay away.

His eight-month reign is now on the verge of closure after disagreements during a meeting last week.

The 40-year-old’s weekly commutes back to his homeland are a big part of the problems. Now it seems a case of when, and not if, an official parting of the ways is confirmed.

Kearney joined Saints in September after Alan Stubbs was axed and despite keeping the club in the top flight cracks soon appeared in the relationship.

Now with a peace deal seemingly impossible, Alloa boss Jim Goodwin will be a contender for the role.
