Oracle redevelopment plans revealed as popular bar prepares to say goodbye to Leeds

Details of what is planned to replace the popular Oracle Bar and Nightclub when it closes next month have been revealed.

The Brewery Wharf establishment will be shutting on Saturday, February 1. The business has been open 15 years with the venue earning many fans during its existence.

Rushbond, the original developer of the Brewery Wharf estate, will be taking the opportunity to develop the building into a mixed-use space.

The first-floor nightclub will be turned into an office space, while the bar and there are plans to turn the waterfront terrace into an 'exciting new concept'.

With planning permission already approved, redevelopment of the site will commence in the spring with new tenants expected to be in place for the summer.

Since launching in 2005, Oracle, was known for its foodie trends, alfresco drinking and dining experience and many enjoyed bottomless brunches at the hotspot.

Deborah De Vittoris, Oracle co-founder, said: “Oracle may be closing its doors, but it leaves behind a legacy as a leading innovator of the leisure market in Leeds; a flagship venue that continually adapted over its 15 years of trading to the latest consumer trends.

“I’m extremely proud of everything Oracle went on to achieve, the fantastic management and staff that worked at the venue and the many customers that enjoyed everything the venue offered. It’s great to see the landlord now breathing a new lease of life into the Brewery Wharf development, as it continues to adapt and evolve for the future.”

Oracle has previously won UK Bar of The Year at the National Bar, Entertainment and Dance Awards.

Richard Baker, Rushbond’s senior development surveyor said: ‘’Brewery Wharf spearheaded the renaissance of Leeds’ Waterfront and Oracle has been a popular flagship venue in the heart of the development for the past 15 years.

“We look forward to taking this opportunity to invest, develop and diversify the space ready to welcome new tenants to the area.’’
