The staff at an Ayr opticians have taken the plunge into the cold waters at Ayr beach as part of a 'polar dip' – raising money for Cash for Kids.
Thirteen members of the Specsavers store on Ayr High Street went for a frosty swim into the ice-cold sea and generated £1,379 for the charity.
All of the funding raised by the team will help Cash for Kids as part of their Christmas charity appeal, which was established to help children across the region have access to toys and other vital essentials this festive season.
Linda Fulton, store director at Specsavers in Ayr, said: "I’m incredibly proud of all the team who were brave and committed enough to take the plunge in such cold weather, especially as it was for such a good cause this Christmas.
"We’d like to thank everyone who kindly donated to our fundraising as well.
"To raise over £1,300 is an incredible achievement and we hope that it can help to make someone’s Christmas this year a little more special through the remarkable work of Cash for Kids."
