Oprah's royal interview a ratings winner in Canberra

Harry and Meghan with Oprah. Picture: WIN publicity

For all the talk about the Canberra bubble, it seems Canberrans are actually more fascinated by the royal family bubble.

Oprah's explosive interview with Prince Harry and Meghan was the clear ratings winner in Canberra on Monday night, easily slaying its competition, Four Corners and Married at First Sight.

The two-hour primetime special on WIN-TV was Monday night's most-watched, non-news program in Canberra.

Winning its timeslot, Oprah with Meghan and Harry reached 72,955 local viewers with a commercial share of 49.8 per cent of total people.

Four Corners episode Bursting the Canberra Bubble, focusing on sexual allegations around Parliament House but not presenting much new, attracted 38,297 viewers in Canberra.

The Nine juggernaut Married at First Sight went limp during the start of its so-called intimacy week, managing to lure in 22,803 viewers in the national capital.
