Oprah, Brie Larson and Anna Wintour set to speak at Annual Women in the World Summit

Media mogul and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour are all due to speak at this year's Annual Women in the World Summit at Lincoln Centre, New York City.

The event, which is taking place from 10-12 April for the 10th consecutive year, brings together female leaders and trailblazers from a variety of fields to discuss the impact women are continuing to have on a global scale.

On Thursday 28 February, it was announced that Winfrey will be delivering a keynote address at the event.

During her speech, the media executive will address the question being asked at this year's summit: "Can women save the world?"

In addition to Winfrey, other significant individuals also in attendance at the event will include comedian Wanda Sykes, politician Stacey Abrams and model Adwoa Aboah, who founded online community Gurls Talk.

“This year’s summit is such a milestone event with our 10th anniversary; it is clearer than ever that the mission has met its moment,” said Tina Brown, founder and CEO of Tina Brown Live Media and the Women in the World organisation.

“The seeds we’ve planted as far back as 2009 in a small midtown theatre have exploded into a global community of women of power and purpose.”

Over the past decade, high profile individuals included Oscar-winning actor Viola Davis, journalist Ronan Farrow and former US secretary of state Hillary Clinton have all been invited to speak at the event.

This year's summit will also include a portion focused on women in comedy, which will address how female comedians are able to navigate the "current cultural climate".

Additional speakers attending the event are yet to be announced.
