Senegal's opposition leader Bassirou Diomaye Faye elected president

Senegal's President Macky Sall hails his country's democracy as being in good health as he and his ruling coalition concede defeat to the anti-establishment opposition candidate. Just 10 days after being released from jail, Bassirou Diomaye Faye is set to become Senegal's youngest president.

Also, Nigeria looks into getting an international arrest warrant for a cryptocurrency executive who escaped custody and reportedly fled using a smuggled passport. Nadeem Anjarwalla had been arrested over money laundering charges levelled against Binance, the global cryptocurrency exchange platform for which he worked.

Plus, Mali's government has launched a new label to designate its meat products and to help boost the local economy. The livestock sector represents the country's third most important export, after gold and cotton.
