Opposition is trying to spread unrest, anarchy in UP: BJP

LUCKNOW: UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh on Tuesday accused the Opposition of spreading unrest and anarchy in the state while being least concerned about the interests of farmers.

“They are only concerned about their vote bank and political interests, but the public knows the truth of the drama being staged by them,” Singh said.

The state BJP chief’s attack on the Opposition came on the day when an FIR was lodged against Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on charges of ‘disturbing peace’ even as police stopped Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel at Lucknow airport.

“The victims’ families and farmers’ organizations are satisfied with the government’s action, but the Opposition parties are constantly trying to mislead them for creating instability in the state,” Singh said.

“They will not succeed in their plans. Under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, the government will act strictly against all the elements trying to spread anarchy by fueling rumours,” he added.

Singh said Congress leaders come to UP only for political tourism and are shedding crocodile tears for farmers.

“Those who once committed genocide of farmers, grabbed the land of farmers, are trying to instigate them,” he said.

He also accused the opposition of conspiring to turn the situation explosive by trying to reach the spot. The opposition should understand that the Yogi government will not spare anyone who tries to fuel unrest and goes against the law, Singh added.
