'Opportunity' - Cardiff City dealt major injury blow ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Cardiff City have been dealt a major injury blow ahead of Tuesday night's clash with Nottingham Forest.

The Bluebirds had been on a stellar run of form in the Championship before Saturday afternoon's defeat away at Stoke City, boasting a seven game unbeaten run.

And they will welcome Sabri Lamouchi's side to the Cardiff City Stadium desperate get back to winning ways and close the gap between themselves and the top six as the division's promotion dark horses.

But they will have to do it without midfielder Lee Tomlin, manager Neil Harris has revealed.

“He’s going to be out 6-8 weeks unfortunately. We wish him well," Harris revealed to the club's website.

“It’s a blow to lose someone with the quality of Lee."

He added: "Now we need others to take this opportunity.”

31-year-old, Tomlin has been one Cardiff's star men this season, scoring seven goals from midfield since returning from his loan spell with Peterborough last term.
