OPPEIN to launch new store in Altrincham in major boost for town's high street

The largest cabinet manufacturer in Asia is to open a new outlet in Altrincham.

OPPEIN, which is relatively new to the UK retail market, has signed a 10-year lease at the former Magnet outlet on Stamford New Road, which was recently acquired by the Pervaiz Naviede Family Trust (PNFT).

The Chinese firm supplies custom-made cabinets for both house owners and residential projects. The new outlet is 2,484 sq ft and has been taken at a rent of £41,500 per annum.

Christina Wang, managing director of the OPPEIN Manchester Showroom, said: “We are looking forward to opening the Manchester showroom by the end of November.

"We are trying our best to help present the excellent customized cabinetry products which are in modern design and free from formaldehyde. OPPEIN also provide one-stop solution from measurement to installation”.

Daniel Lee, director of Regional Property Solutions, who acted for the landlord, Pervaiz Naviede Family Trust, said: “This letting to OPPEIN and the recently opened Your Green & Co within Stamford House were agreed pre-lockdown and completed after the retail restrictions lifted and reflect the strength of Altrincham town centre.

"The doom and gloom surrounding the retail market is not universal as I am aware other suburban centres are benefitting from improved demand and take-up indicating a desire to shop local rather than city centre given the current circumstances.

“Despite the loss of Debenhams and the closure of the House of Fraser at the end of August, the purchase last October by Trafford Council and Bruntwood Works of the Stamford Quarter Shopping Centre, of which the House of Fraser is part, provides the opportunity to revive this retail enclave.

"They are now exploring new uses for the building and improving the public realm, which will be a key element in the overall ambitions to help secure Altrincham’s continued success.”
