Playwright Miriam Battye, who has also worked on major TV shows including Succession and Dead Ringers, and award-winning director Katie Posner join us from Somerset House to talk about their new show A Strategic Love Play at the Soho Theatre.
The work, which triumphed at the Edinburgh Festival, is about the most awkward of dates between two people who have happened to swipe right, and examines modern romance in darkly comic terms.
In discussing the show, Battye and Posner reveal their worst dates and why they think the pursuit of romance can be so exhausting. They talk about issues facing theatre today, including how the lack of funding and arts in schools is blocking many young writers.
