Opinion: Alan Foster continues to dig a deeper hole with latest videos

Two weeks ago, we stumbled across a bizarre video with views in the low thousands that had been up for multiple hours and was hard to believe. In it, a man we could definitely confirm was Alan Foster stood in what of we definitely can’t confirm wasn’t a green screen while talking about Lonzo Ball, LaVar Ball and Big Baller Brand.

It was out of character for Foster who seemingly had no social media profiles of note prior to the video, hadn’t done many, if any, interviews since being accused of stealing millions of dollars from Lonzo and generally wasn’t a man who put himself in the public eye.

The video itself was just as bizarre as he made claims that Lonzo’s ankle wasn’t fully healed, LaVar ruined Lonzo’s ankles and the other two brothers were either suffering the same fate (LiAngelo) or were going to (LaMelo). While few would have more inside knowledge on the family than Foster, the way the message was delivered made the whole thing feel contrived.

While Foster’s social media profiles were linked in the description, none of them offered any more clarity to why he had decided to “expose” the Ball family. His Twitter was only months old, having been created in June, was following zero accounts and to-date only has 26 followers. The likes of his Facebook page could be counted by the dozens and his Instagram page had two posts and only a few hundred followers and all that is before even addressing the bizarreness of his website.

On Alan Foster Official’s website, a video welcomes the visitors with an invitation to take classes led by Foster with promises of a Big Baller lifestyle. After scrolling well down the site, prices are listed with one course priced at $499 and non-descript upgrades pricing out at $2,499 and $4,999 with “priceless” and “invaluable” benefits coming with the programs.

If the whole thing had been a one-off with a single video being posted, it would have come across as a desperate man making a last-ditch effort to reclaim the last embers of his 15 minutes of fame.

Instead, on Monday, Foster posted a second video, this one focused on LaMelo Ball. Foster “exposed” the fact LaMelo had not graduated high school after being pulled out by LaVar, a seemingly needless clarification considering Ball is set to make millions in the NBA in the coming months.

Now, Foster’s message was clearer, not one inspired by desperation but instead vengeance. Whatever point Foster is trying to make with his videos, which haven’t clarified anything within the Ball family, his videos come across a man trying to bring the Ball family down with him.

This doesn’t expunge LaVar of blame or fault in the matter. He’s certainly earned his share of criticism. There’s still the possibility Foster’s countersuit against LaVar could be the truth and that he did embezzle money from his son to fund his lavish lifestyle.

But by any account, LaMelo was an innocent bystander and Lonzo is the victim with his money disappearing with someone or someones at fault. Whether you believe LaVar’s truth or Foster’s truth, the real answer is likely somewhere in the middle where neither side is innocent.

By attempting to drag their names through the mud, Foster is the only one who comes out looking dirty here. No amount of videos aimed at exposing the Balls or calling them frauds will change that Foster is the primary suspect for millions of missing dollars of money from an innocent person. The more videos he posts, the bigger the hole he’s digging becomes.
