Opex Group and Wood Mackenzie join forces to launch North Sea cost-cutting data service

Aberdeen-based Opex Group and Edinburgh consultancy Wood Mackenzie have joined forces to launch a new data service to help oil and gas firms make the most of their North Sea assets by sharing information with other operators.

Operations DataHub enables operators to pool and gain insight from data from multiple assets across the UKCS basin, to learn from each other and sharing best practice to make more informed decisions, reduce costs and optimise operational performance.

Jamie Bennett, CEO of Opex Group, said the tie-up would help firms benefit from the “power of collective insight”, adding: “Being able to take the right decisions and the right actions at the right time helps our customers to reduce costs, increase revenue and achieve compliance.”

Preston Cody, head of analytics solutions for Wood Mackenzie, said: “By creating this new service, we aim to drive data analytics to the next level, supporting customers to benefit from insights not just from their own assets, but right across the industry as a whole.”
