Opening date revealed for new Costa Coffee drive-through

A brand new Costa Coffee drive-through which has been built in Stoke-on-Trent is expected to be open before Christmas after the developer reached practical completion on the scheme.

Godwin Developments is progressing with work on the 1,800 sq ft drive-through which has been developed at the former Pizza Hut site, in Baths Road, Longton, alongside a new Greggs bakery.

Now work to fit out both of the new stores - which are located close to other big-name brands including Tesco and McDonald's - has started, with Costa expected to be open before Christmas.

Ketan Patel, construction associate at Godwin Developments said: "We are extremely pleased to have reached this significant milestone at our Stoke-on-Trent development and are excited to see both Costa Coffee and Greggs progressing their fit outs at pace so that they can begin serving customers as soon as possible.

"Demand for food-to-go offerings nationwide has experienced a significant rise in recent months and we are delighted to once again be able to support our commercial partners in expanding their presence across the country.

"I'd like to express my appreciation to the on-site team from Intium Construction, who have worked quickly to complete the construction in just eight months despite industry-wide challenges. We look forward to seeing the units fully branded and open to the public soon."

Susan Agnew, acquisition manager from Costa Coffee, said: "We are very pleased to have already started the fit-out of our new store in Stoke-on-Trent and look forward to welcoming customers in the coming days.

"I would like to extend our thanks to the highly proficient team at Godwin Developments for their support throughout the process to-date. This acquisition further consolidates Costa's existing presence in this region, enabling us to continue our expansion of the nation's favourite coffee shop."
