We know from our story on it last week that plenty of you are excited about Gateshead getting a new Indian restaurant and not just any Indian restaurant, but a luxury one!
We revealed that award-winning South Shields business Namaste, which has taken home numerous accolades for its authentic cuisine over the past few years, had taken over the Marquis of Granby in Sunniside to transform into a luxury restaurant with an adjoining prosecco lounge.
The owners are promising "modern Indian cuisine with an exclusive edge," and a place where you can "eat, drink, dance," with live music and live sport coverage promised.
They told Chronicle Live: "Whether it is our live music, phenomenal food or classy cocktails; you know that you can always have a brilliant night away from it all."
Well know we know when you'll be able to get a taste of the action at the new restaurant. Namaste Luxury Indian Restaurant & Club Prosecco Lounge will open on Streetgate on Wednesday, October 23.
And the announcement on Facebook quickly gathered plenty of comments. One excited diner reacted "Wow, I can't wait, can I be top of that guest list," while another commented "yummy!"
Namaste's South Shields restaurant won the North East's Best Restaurant at the 2017 English Curry Awards and then took home the title of Most Wanted Restaurant in the North East at the 2019 ceremony.
