Opening date for new Co-op store in Beeston is revealed

Shoppers have just a few days to wait until a brand new Co-op opens up in Beeston.

The new branch in Wilmot Road will offer a free water refill station and phone charging area in addition to food and essentials. It forms part of a Charterpoint development which includes new homes.

The Central England Co-op has now confirmed the store, which has had checkout screens installed due to coronavirus, will open on Friday, May 15.

Wilmot Lane Central England Co-operative store manager, Ashley Carter, said: “We are delighted that we will finally be opening the doors and welcoming the community into our brand new store in Beeston.

“These are not the circumstances that we ever imagined launching this fantastic new store in, but we are looking forward to being there with the vital food and essentials locals need in these uncertain times and to being a part of a great community in Beeston.”

A food collection bank is also being installed to support the Hope Nottingham Food Bank, to support an increase in demand during the pandemic.

The Wilmot Lane Co-operative food store will be open from 7am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday.
