Opening date for Bradley Stoke McDonald's set

A brand new McDonald's store in Bradley Stoke has been given an opening date as building works near completion. The new fast food restaurant at Willow Brook will be a 24-hour drive-thru site.

McDonald's franchisee Mike Guerin announced to Bristol Live today that the new restaurant will open on September 14.

The new site will neighbour a brand new 24-hour Starbucks store. However, the new builds haven't had an easy road to completion.

Brookmaker Limited Partnership’s plans for a McDonald’s and a Starbucks at the Willow Brook Centre had been rejected by South Gloucestershire Council on the grounds that the development would cause increased noise, litter and traffic problems.

However, at the start of 2020, a planning inspector found there was no good reason to refuse the application and allowed it go to ahead. Unfortunately, the actual building of the location took a further blow as the coronavirus pandemic took the nation by storm.

It's been over two years since planning was approved but finally, the new fast food chain will be opening on September 14 and the chain has begun looking to recruit new staff.

Mike Guerin, McDonald’s franchisee said: “I’m excited that my new Bradley Stoke restaurant is being built with a new design and innovations which will improve the experience of our customers and my team. I look forward to opening on September 14.”

However, the Starbucks site which is being built adjacent to the McDonald's store will not open at the same time. The opening of this branch has been delayed by two months and will not open its doors until October now.
