OpenAI has announced some major upgrades. Its API now features deep research models, such as o3-deep-research and o4-mini-deep-research, which are designed to help users tackle complex questions and tasks by combining advanced reasoning with web search capabilities. The company also introduced webhooks, a feature that lets apps get automatic notifications when certain events happen, making it simpler to build responsive AI-driven workflows.
Apart from that, for developers who are using ChatGPT macOS apps, there’s now a way to edit code directly from inside popular integrated development environments (IDEs). This change is meant to streamline the coding process and make it faster to get work done without switching between apps.
On the business side, OpenAI and tech company HCLTech announced a multi-year partnership to bring more AI solutions to enterprise customers. While this is not a new product or feature, it signals ongoing investment in making AI more accessible for big organizations.
These updates follow other recent improvements, such as new pricing for the o3 model, which is now 80% cheaper, and the launch of o3-pro for Pro users. The company is also making it easier for developers to build voice agents and manage prompts with new tools and APIs released in the last few weeks.
Furthermore, the company has recently rolled out a new record mode in ChatGPT, which allows you to capture, transcribe, and summarize spoken conversations like meetings, brainstorming sessions, and voice notes. It is currently available on macOS through the ChatGPT desktop app for Enterprise, Team, Edu, and Pro subscribers.
