People have the chance to take a 'liberating' dip in a popular Merseyside beauty spot where open water swimming sessions are being held.
The events are taking place at Crosby Lakeside across a number of dates this summer.

It is an opportunity for experienced open water swimmers to enjoy the scenic spot at Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre on Cambridge Road in Waterloo. Organisers say open water swimming is ‘a truly different experience to the pool, without the confines of lane ropes or walls, it’s liberating, adventurous and unique’.
There will be a 500 metre course in place and all swimmers will be asked to follow a one way system in place. Each event is limited to 40 swimmers and prior booking is essential. Due to covid 19 restrictions there will be no changing facilities in place.
Sessions are available on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and Saturday mornings from 9.30am to 11am. Tickets are £5.98 and can be booked at Eventbrite.
The Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre also hosts family activities including rowing boats, stand up paddle boards, open canoes and sit on top kayaks. People can also take part in a wide variety of water sports including sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and jet skiing, with training opportunities available.
