Open thread: Which song would you play if the world was ending?

The existence of CNN’s “doomsday video” has been long rumoured – to the point that it was parodied in Gremlins 2 – but on Monday something claiming to be the thing itself was leaked on to the Jalopnik site by former CNN intern Michael Ballaban.

Just as CNN founder Ted Turner promised when the station launched in 1980, in the event of a nuclear holocaust the station planned to sign off to the soothing tones of a military band playing Nearer My God to Thee – the hymn the band played on the Titanic when the ship went down.

But is this the right piece of music to send the human race off into fiery oblivion? Which tune would you choose if the apocalypse was imminent? Clearly REM have a ready-made anthem in their 1987 song It’s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine) but is there a song that’s even more appropriate? Tell us below.
