Here at GuardianWitness HQ, we're busily shortlisting your most influential, moving, striking and amusing photos, stories and videos for the GuardianWitness Awards 2014.
Lots of you have asked us for just a bit more time to enter the Original Short Film category – so we're extending the deadline and launching an open assignment for your films on any topic. If you've made a video that's no more than three minutes long and would like to be considered for the GuardianWitness Original Short Film Award, make sure you upload it to GuardianWitness by 10am GMT on Thursday 30 January.
We're looking for animated or live action films on any subject. The winner will be the one which the judges consider the most outstanding, based on its storytelling, content and editing.
If you've already submitted a video to GuardianWitness that's over three minutes long and therefore can't be considered for the award, you're welcome to submit a shorter version here.
Don't forget, you must hold all the rights to your film – that means it can't include any commercial music, for instance.
