Oor Wullie Big Bucket Trail 10k encourages Glaswegians to keep fit and find sculptures of comic icon

The welcome invasion of Oor Wullie statues around the city has had Glaswegians in their droves on the hunt to find and 'collect' all 58 of those that make up the public art trail.

As part of Oor Wullie's BIG Bucket Trail, the statues have appeared as part of an 11-week nationwide public art trail to raise vital funds for Scotland's children's hospital charities.

And now Glaswegians can go on the hunt for some of the sculptures of the cheeky comic book icon while keeping fit - thanks to a new Oor Wullie big bucket trail 10k.

Uploaded to website Glasgow Running Routes, the 6.4 mile road route takes in 14 of the 58 statues as it winds its way from Anderston to the west end via Kelvingrove Park up to the Botanic Gardens and down along the River Clyde at the SEC.

The route follows a loop so pick your starting point and keep an eye out for the statues at the likes of the Museum of Transport, the Mitchell Library and Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum.

And we can't think of a better way to tick some more 'Wullies' off the list.

Good luck on the run!
