PYEONGCHANG -- Skier Ayana Onozuka gave her best performance in her third and final run, but it wasn't enough for a second straight Olympic medal in the women's halfpipe freestyle.

The 29-year-old finished fifth at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics on Tuesday, scoring 82.20 points in her third run. Cassie Sharpe of Canada won the event at 95.80.

"I didn't get a medal, but I did my best," Onozuka said.

The bronze medalist at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Onozuka has struggled this season. She suffered a concussion in a fall during a World Cup meet in December and had to take time off to recover. At the Winter X Games in January, she fell in two of her three runs to finish sixth.

Onozuka started Tuesday's final at Phoenix Snow Park with 50.80 points on her first run, during which she sat down on a landing. She improved her score to 77.20 in the second run, and jumped to 82.20 with her third run. However, the top four skiers all had scores over 90.
