Only two vaccine centres in NHS Lanarkshire now offering drop-ins

NHS Lanarkshire is only offering drop-in clinics at two vaccination centres this week to support the spring booster programme.

The health board announced on social media that it would only be running drop-in appointments at the Ravenscraig vaccination centre and the Ally McCoist Centre, with other sites requiring a booking.

It Tweeted: ‘Drop-in clinics this week (March 14 – 18) are only open at 2 of our vaccination centres – Ravenscraig and Ally McCoist. These are for anyone 12 years old & over who requires a 1st or 2nd dose. Or anyone 16 years & over who requires a booster.’

Drop-in appointments have been limited to two centres across the area to facilitate NHS Lanarkshire’s new spring booster programme.

A spokesman for NHS Lanarkshire said: “We are rolling out the spring booster programme and this week we have prioritised care homes with staff from our vaccination centres supporting the care home vaccinations.

"This is so we can administer the vaccine to the most vulnerable cohorts as soon as possible.”

As of March 15, total of 421,119 people aged over 12 years of age have revived their booster or third dose of the COVID vaccine across NHS Lanarkshire.

As of yesterday, a further 1329 people tested positive for coronavirus across Lanarkshire.
